Mello Throw

Mello is designed by Skogstad & Wærnes. The series approaches Røros Tweed's woven textile tradition through contemporary pattern-making, using colour and repetition to build rhythm across the surface. The construction of the textile remains visible in the finished design, allowing the woven structure rather than an applied graphic to carry the pattern.

At the mill in Røros, they weave each wool throw from Norwegian lambswool, building the pattern directly into the textile. The jacquard construction allows colour and pattern to reverse from one side to the other, while brushing lifts the wool fibres to give the finished throw a softer, fuller surface.
Røros Tweed has produced wool textiles in Røros since 1940, and the same material and weaving knowledge continues to inform how each throw is made today.
