Kattefot Blanket

Kattefot is designed by Judy D. Lundin, who worked as a freelance designer for Røros Tweed in the late 1980s. First introduced in 1988, the design takes its colours and visual character from the landscape surrounding the mill in Røros. Its restrained pattern and fringed finish have remained part of the Røros Tweed collection ever since.

At the mill in Røros, they weave each wool throw from Norwegian lambswool, building the pattern directly into the textile. The jacquard construction allows colour and pattern to reverse from one side to the other, while brushing lifts the wool fibres to give the finished throw a softer, fuller surface.
Røros Tweed has produced wool textiles in Røros since 1940, and the same material and weaving knowledge continues to inform how each throw is made today.
